This spring, we wrapped up our season with a 11-8 overall record, marking a strong step forward for our program. One of the season’s highlights was our Spring Break trip to North Carolina, where we not only finished 2-0 on the road, but were able to kick off the start of conference games strong, defeating Davidson, 8-6.
We capped off the season finishing in 3rd place before entering the Atlantic 10 Tournament, hosted by Davidson. For the first time in program history we won in the quarterfinals, defeating George Washington, 10-8. In the semifinals, we took on VCU and battled to the end in a hard-fought 18-11 loss.
Although it wasn’t the result we wanted, through blood, sweat, and tears, we were able to recognize the difference between where this program started and where it is today. Often, we tell the girls to “be where your feet are,” because moments like our quarterfinals win and coming close to the championship are ones that will stay with you. So, through great wins and tough losses alike, we remind them to be where their feet are and give all they've got.
As the girls return to campus, we won’t forget how we finished this past season. We will recognize the success we have had and will continue to grow the program to new heights. Our goal will always be to win an A10 Championship.
