Bonnies Men's Soccer December Alumni Newsletter

We are excited to present our first Alumni Newsletter: Inside Marra with St. Bonaventure Men’s Soccer. Our staff is delighted to kick off our improved communication to our Bonnies faithful! We will mix newsletters and Zoom calls throughout the year to engage our supporters.

First and most important, our staff wants to thank everyone for their patience and support this past Fall season. Different challenges presented themselves routinely, but we are beyond fortunate to have had so many conversations and make a lot of connections in our first few months here.

When looking at the Fall, our student-athletes battled from August all the way through November. Just shy of three months filled with lifelong memories, hard lessons learned, and growth made both individually and collectively. While the results are nowhere near the standards and expectations of what we demand internally, the program made positive strides forward. We are striving for a Culture of Excellence. Finding excellence, we need to learn how to compete on a consistent basis. This means we are in the phase of creating a Culture of Competitiveness internally centered how small details add up to elite level performances. Everything matters when you are a true competitor starting with the smallest details. Our group has truly embraced this mindset and while not perfect yet, we have made positive growth.

This year’s squad accumulated 67 points, 23 goals scored from 11 different goal-scorers, 21 assists, 43.6 shots on-goal percentage, four clean sheets and were 3-for-3 on penalty kicks.

An enormous honor was awarded to the program this Fall with Seth Hammond being named Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference. This was our first All-Conference award, First or Second Team since 2018 and was the first time a Bonnies men’s soccer player picked up First Team honors since 2013. Seth was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team. He was then selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team on Dec. 9.

In addition to our Atlantic 10 accolades, the program had five student-athletes named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. Those individuals were: Seth Hammond, Ricardo Rittersberger, Gabriel Addo, Callum Shillington, and Yaseen Khaled.

We recognized 10 student-athletes this Fall as our newest alumni group in the 2025 Senior Class. This year’s seniors contributed 5,842 minutes played, 14 goals, 16 assists and two game-winning goals to St. Bonaventure men’s soccer. We appreciate all the efforts and dedication each one gave to the Brown & White! Truly thank you for everything. We are excited to support all of them on their next step in their careers.

MSOC Senior Group

As we look at helping our current group of student-athletes for the chapter that comes after St. Bonaventure, we are going to speak about starting an Alumni Mentorship Program with any of our alumni that would like to be involved. Our staff believes this will create a stronger bond between our current group and alumni while also helping our student-athletes prepare for life after Bonaventure. More information and details to come in the coming months.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of any program, collegiate or professional. Outside of navigating the transfer portal, our staff has been actively on the road since the season ended working through our domestic freshman recruiting too. Take a look below at the map to see the different cities we have traveled to for recruiting events.
