ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. -
The women's basketball team opens its 2010-11 season this season against the Binghamton Bearcats. Prior to the game, the 2010 Women's National Invitational banner will be raised to the rafters of the Reilly Center, and the senior class from last year's historic season will be in attendance. The game will be televised live on SBU-TV and streamed live for free here. The game can also be heard on WSBU-FM 88.3 The Buzz, and listeners can tune in online here.

High Five?
St. Bonaventure comes into tonight's matchup with a perfect 4-0 record all-time against the Bearcats of Binghamton, looking to stretch that streak to five straight. St. Bonaventure has also won five straight season openers, dating back to a 73-70 loss against Colgate on Nov. 20, 2004.

3-Peat?
This will be the third consecutive year that St. Bonaventure and Binghamton meet to begin the season. The Bonnies are 2-0 in each of the previous two meetings, and the two teams have met every year since 2007, including two encounters during the 2007-08 campaign.

Last Time They Met
Then-sophomore Jessica Jenkins went 3-for-3 from 3-point range in the second half and finished with 17 points to lead all scorers in a 63-42 St. Bonaventure win at the Events Center in Vestal on Nov. 13, 2009. Dana Mitchell pitched in with 15 points as the St. Bonaventure defense started a streak of holding its first six opponents under 50 points.

Same Face, Semi-New Place
Sarah Cartmill makes her return to the RC sidelines tonight as an assistant coach for Binghamton. The 2002 Binghamton graduate returned to coach at her alma mater over the summer after spending the previous four seasons as a St. Bonaventure assistant.

Scouting Binghamton
- Binghamton is coming off a 11-19 (7-9 America East) mark during its 09-10 campaign. 
- The Bearcats return their top scorer from last season in Andrea Holmes (13.3 ppg) as well as third- and fourth-leading scorers  Jackie Ward (10.9 ppg) and Viive Rebane (8.2 ppg). 
- On the road last season the Bearcats posted a 5-10 record.
- Tonight is just the fifth meeting between the two schools. Binghamton is still searching for its first victory against the Bonnies. 
- Andrea Holmes and Kara Elofson carried the Bearcats to a 66-49 win over Mansfield during an exhibition matchup on Tuesday. Holmes had a game-high 24 points while Elofson  (0.3 ppg, 0.4 reb in 09-10) contributed a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Three's Company
Freshmen CeCe Dixon and Doris Ortega join redshirt junior Armelia Horton this year, giving the Bonnies three products of Manhattan's Murry Bergtraum High School. In Ortega's four years at Bergtraum, the team posted a 102-3 record, and in Dixon's three years the team went 74-3 in the highest level of basketball in New York state. Bergtraum has been ranked in the top-20 in the USA Today national rankings each of the last six years years, and in Horton's junior year she led the club to a 28-0 record and No. 4 national ranking.

Movin' On Up
St. Bonaventure's 10 losses in 2009-10 are the fewest in program history since joining the Division I ranks in 1986-87.

The Bonnies ranked in the top 10 in the nation in four different statistical categories last year:

           5th: Free-Throw Percentage (80.3)
           7th: 3-Point Percentage (38.5)
           7th: Fewest Turnovers Per Game (13.6)
           9th: Scoring Defense Per Game (52.7)

The team has made back-to-back appearances in in the Women's National Invitational Tournament, win­ning at least one game each year.

+ In 2009-10, St. Bonaventure held 14 opponents under 50 points, including five under 40
+ The Bonnies are just one of four A-10 teams to have four consecutive winning seasons
+ All 23 wins in 2009-10 came by double figures, including a program-record 11-0 start
