St. Bonaventure student-athletes have earned an incredible amount of success in the classroom over the past decade. By percentage, St. Bonaventure student-athletes are among the most successful in the Atlantic 10 and continue to replicate that success semester after semester.
 

Excellence in the Classroom

  • St. Bonaventure student-athletes (as of the Fall 2024 semester) have produced a cumulative GPA of over 3.0 for 39 straight semesters – a run of nearly two decades.
  • 77 percent of Bonaventure student-athletes have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • 79 percent of SBU student-athletes achieved a Fall 2024 semester GPA of 3.0 or better and 213 student-athletes were 3.5 or higher to earn a spot on the University's Dean's List.
  • Over 270 student-athletes were named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in Spring 2024 after having a cumulative GPA for the year of 3.0 or better. That number was better than the Atlantic 10 member average despite St. Bonaventure being the second smallest A-10 member by enrollment.
  • 37 student-athletes were named Academic All-District during the 2023-24 academic year.

 Graduation Success Rate 

  • St. Bonaventure University student-athletes have a graduation success rate of over 95%.
  • In all sponsored sports at St. Bonaventure, the success rate is higher than the national average. 

 National Recognition

  • Each of St. Bonaventure's 19 Division I programs posted an APR score of 950 or better and all but three reached a score of 983 or higher in the 2023 report. The NCAA minimum threshold is 930, meaning that all St. Bonaventure programs remain in strong APR standing.

  • Leading the way for the Bonnies were men's cross country and track as well as women's soccer which all posted scores of 997. Men's and women's tennis each had a score of 990 while softball (995) and women's lacrosse (996) excelled as well. Dating back to the beginning of available APR data in 2004, Bonnies women's soccer has achieved a score of 990 or better in all but one year. Bona softball, meanwhile, has delivered 10 straight years of at least 990 or better and women's lacrosse registers its fifth consecutive reporting year of 993 or higher. Since 2012, Bonnies men's cross country has recorded a score of 994 or better all but one year, including three perfect scores.
