How It Happened

After scoring the first basket of the game and taking a 2-0 lead, La Salle would not take the lead for the rest of the contest, as the Bonnies led the entire game. In fact, aside from tying the score up five times within the first six minutes of the game, the Explorers would not get any closer than three points, twice, for the remainder of the game (both tries within the first 10 minutes of the first half).  Katie Healy scored eight of the Bonnies first 10 points of the game and would end the first half with a game-high 12 points to go along with five rebounds (tied for a game-high).  St. Bonaventure would take an eight point lead into halftime after shooting 11-24 (45.8%) from the field while La Salle was 8-29 for 27.6% at the break.

The Bonnies opened up the second half on a 13-4 run over the first eight minutes to build their lead up to 17 points, it's largest of the game at the time. Healy would add 15 second half points to bring her to 27 points on the night, a new career-high. For the third straight game and 6th time this season, Healy would register a double-double as she also added 11 boards to go along with four assists, two blocks and one steal in the victory. Hannah Little added 11 second half points off the bench (to finish the game with 13) as her and Healy would combine for 40 of the Bonnies 58 points tonight.

Beyond The Box Score

Healy's career night was highlighted by a 9-10 (90%) shooting from both the free throw line and the field. Her nine free throws made were all recorded in the second half.

Through the team's first four A-10 conference games, Healy has been the game high-scorer in each of those contests. Through those four games, she is averaging 21.8 points per game and nine rebounds.

Emily Michael tied her career-high in rebounds with five.

16 of the Bonnies final 20 points came from behind the free throw line, while 11 of La Salle's 18 total second half points also came from behind the line.

The Bonnies lone three-pointer made tonight (1-7) marks the second time this season the team has made just one bucket from behind the arc. The last time was in the season-opener at NC State on Nov. 8, 2012.

SBU capped off their 23-point victory by shooting 18-37 (48.6%) from the field, while holding the Explorers to just 11-54 (20.4%) on the evening. That is the lowest shooting percentage by a St. Bonaventure opponent since November 10th, 2012 when Binghamton shot 25.5%.

St. Bonaventure has now defeated La Salle in eight consecutive games dating back to 2007-2008 season.

The Brown and White improve to 6-1 on home court this season.
