BONNIES CLOSE NON-CONFERENCE PLAY AT HOFSTRA: The Bonnies wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule with a trip to Hofstra on Thursday afternoon, also competing in the last game before a 10-day holiday break. The Bonnies are playing at Hofstra for the first time ever and taking on the Pride for the first time since 1993. The two teams have met just once previously, that being a Bonnies win at home on Feb. 7, 1993.
WELCOME TO THE SQUAD: The addition of freshman Abigail Johnson, who missed the first eight games of the year due to injury, has brought a needed presence on the boards for the Bonnies. Johnson is averaging 7.3 rebounds per game since her return and tallied her first double-digit rebounding effort Sunday at Albany with 10 rebounds including five on the offensive glass.
MOVIN' ON UP: Senior Mariah Ruff is in the midst of one of the best careers in Bonnies women's basketball history. Already one of just five players in program history with 1,000 points and 300 assists, she moved into sixth place in career assists last Sunday with 344 and also took 19th in career scoring with 1,084 points.
COUNCIL COMING ON: Sophomore Rhianna Council had a breakout game Dec. 9 vs. Penn State, registering career highs in points (9) and minutes (29). Council has seen her role increase recently, including making her first career start Dec. 17 at Albany while averaging 24.0 minutes per game.
BONNIES VS. THE COLONIAL: Hofstra will mark the second Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opponent the Bonnies have faced this season. Bona lost a heartbreaker to Delaware, 53-52, on Nov. 29 at home. Bona is 4-9 all-time against current members of the CAA.
