RUFF TAKES A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS: St. Bonaventure senior Mariah Ruff was named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 27.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and shooting over 45 percent from the floor as well as nearly 52 percent from beyond the arc in a pair of games last week. Last Wednesday vs. Saint Joseph's, she netted a career high 31 points, connecting on 11 field goals and eight 3-pointers. Her 31 points were the most by any Bonnies player in nearly six years while the eight treys tied for second-most in single game SBU history. She followed that up by keying a win over UMass on Saturday, draining a game-high 24 points while adding six rebounds and four assists. For the week, she shot 14-for-27 from distance. One of five players in program history with over 1,000 points and 300 assists for her career, Ruff moved into fifth place in Bonnies assists during Saturday's win with 356 and also jumped to 13th on the program scoring charts with 1,167 points. This season, she averages 14.5 points and 5.0 assists, both team highs.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES: Sophomore Danielle Migliore has become a leader for the Bonnies in her second season with the program. After receiving limited playing time during her freshman season, Migliore has started all 16 games thus far this season.
- Migliore has scored in double figures in six straight games including 20+ points in two.
- She is averaging 16.5 points and 5.8 rebounds over the past six games while shooting nearly 45 percent from the floor and 41 percent from long range (20-for-49).
- Migliore has been perhaps the most improved player in the Atlantic 10 this season. No Atlantic 10 player has improved their scoring year-to-year more than Migliore who has upped her scoring average by 10.1 points per game thus far over her freshman season. The second-most improved player in terms of scoring average will also be in Wednesday's game - Dayton's Jayla Scaife (+8.9 ppg year-to-year - 6.1 ppg last year, 15.0 ppg this year).
THREE-POINT THREATS: Sophomore Danielle Migliore and senior Mariah Ruff are one of the most prolific three-point shooting duos in the Atlantic 10 this season. Ruff ranks fourth in the league with 42 3s this season, just ahead of Migliore's 40. With 82 combined treys this year, only one A-10 duo - Duquesne's Julijana Vojinovic and Chassidy Omogrosso (92) - has combined for more 3-pointers this year.
ADDING TO HER RESUME: Senior Mariah Ruff drained a career-high eight 3-pointers in the Jan. 3 game vs. Saint Joseph's last Wednesday and added six more treys on Saturday vs. UMass, the 11th and 12th games of her career where she has totaled four or more 3s.
ARC ACES: St. Bonaventure has been outstanding both offensively and defensively beyond the perimeter this season. The Bonnies not only rank second in the league in 3s made at 8.1 per game, but also lead the Atlantic 10 by limiting opponents to just 26.2 shooting from long range.
JT THE STARTER: Sophomore Jalisha Terry has started the last four games after coming off the bench in each of the first 12 contests of the season. The Flint, Mich. native started 25 of 29 games as the team's point guard a season ago. In the UMass victory on Jan. 6, Terry handed out a career-best eight assists - her previous best was six coming last season.
TAKING CHARITY: Junior Arielle Harvey has made the most of her trips to the foul line this season - she ranks tied 10th in the Atlantic 10 by shooting 81.8 percent (36-for-44) from the line.
THIRD IS THE CHARM: St. Bonaventure has been at its best in the third quarter this season, owning a +42 scoring margin. At home, the Bonnies are +77 during the third quarter for the year.
