ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Senior Mariah Ruff posted a stat line of 11 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, but it would not be enough to overcome an onslaught from sisters Micaela and Alex Parson as visiting Richmond scored a 79-57 victory Wednesday night at the Reilly Center.

A pair of freshmen also had strong stat lines – Emily Calabrese delivered 12 points while Abigail Johnson finished with seven points and nine rebounds as the Bonnies dropped to 7-19 overall on the season. Junior Mckenna Maycock also had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Ruff's 11 assists put her in a tie with 15 other previous efforts for sixth in program single game history. She already stands in a tie for second with her 14 assist effort back in November vs. Niagara.

The two teams remained close through the opening 10 minutes as an 8-0 run from the Bonnies gave the hosts a 16-13 advantage nine minutes in.

From there, though, Richmond (11-15, 6-7 A-10) launched a 26-6 run to take control, including owning a 26-12 margin during the second quarter after opening the period by hitting six of its first eight shots.

The Spiders expanded their lead to 42-24 early in the third quarter, but the Bonnies would pull within 50-38 at the 4:10 mark of the third following a three-pointer by Mckenna Maycock.

That would be as close as the Bonnies would get, however, as the Spiders' lead expanded to 24 midway through the fourth.

Senior Micaela Parson netted a game-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting while her freshman sister Alex posted 14 points off the bench.

Richmond shot 50.8 percent (30-for-59) from the floor while the Bonnies concluded at 47.7 percent (21-for-44).

St. Bonaventure travels to George Mason Sunday with tip-off in Fairfax, Va. slated for 2 p.m.

GAME NOTES:

  • Ruff made a chase at the elusive triple-double, coming up three rebounds shy after posting her second career double-double. In the history of St. Bonaventure basketball, men's and women's, there has been just one triple-double ever – that coming on Feb. 24, 2004 when Priscilla Edwards accomplished the feat – against Richmond at the Reilly Center with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
  • Ruff had her third double-digit assist game of the season and also became just the fifth player in program history to surpass 400 assists for her career. She moved to 407 for her career and is just behind fourth-place Roni Hergenroeder's 415 (1987-91).
  • Calabrese posted her second-highest scoring effort, behind only her 19 points in a win over Rhode Island last month.
  • Johnson has had nine or more rebounds in four of her eight games played this season.
  • Wednesday was the Bonnies' annual Pink Game. The team honored cancer survivors during the game and also sold Pink Game T-shirts with a portion of the proceeds going toward local cancer care at Olean General Hospital.
