ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Visiting Duquesne rallied from a double-digit halftime deficit, then held on late to defeat upset-minded St. Bonaventure, 76-73, Saturday afternoon at the Reilly Center in the regular season finale.

Prior to the game, the Bonnies honored their lone senior, Mariah Ruff, who had another day for the record books.

She finished with 25 points and seven assists on the day, taking over fourth in all-time Bonnies assists by breaking a tie with Roni Hergenroeder '91. She also broke a tie for fifth with Katelyn Murray '09 for career 3s by sinking a pair.

Mckenna Maycock finished with 16 points, including four threes, while Danielle Migliore delivered the second double-double of her career with 13 points and 10 rebounds, also draining four treys.

In the early going, the Bonnies had things rolling.

St. Bonaventure (8-21, 3-13 A-10) started the game on a 15-4 run and led, 17-11, after 10 minutes.

After withstanding a Duquesne counter attack, the Bonnies answered right back to push the lead back into double digits. Eight first half three-pointers had the offense humming with the eighth trey of the opening half giving the Bonnies a 38-23 advantage as Danielle Migliore sank a bucket from long range with 30 seconds left in the half.

Duquesne (23-6, 13-3) got a three of its own from Kadri-Ann Lass with just over a second left in the half, though, to send the teams to intermission with the Bonnies ahead 38-26.

The third quarter belonged to the Dukes, however, as the visitors outscored Bonaventure by a 26-8 margin during the stanza.

It took only five minutes for Duquesne to get back into the game, racing back within 44-42 with 4:31 left in the third. Duquesne took its first lead of the day, 48-46, with 2:12 remaining in the third following a straightaway trey by Julijana Vojinovic.

Bona trailed, 52-46, going for the fourth, but refused to quit.

Migliore and Emily Calabrese combined to put the Bonnies back ahead, 54-53, after a three and a lunging layup by the freshman at the 7:44 mark.

Dukes junior Chassidy Omogrosso was the difference in the game though, ultimately finishing with a game-high 27 points, and put Duquesne back ahead on the very next possession with a layup.

The Bonnies remained tight for the duration, but would never lead again.

A three from Ruff brought the Bonnies within 73-70 with 20 seconds to go, but a technical foul whistled following contact after the bucket gave Duquesne a pair of free throws. Omogrosso converted on both and despite a defensive stop, Duquesne's lead went back to two possessions with under 15 seconds remaining.

Maycock heaved up a prayer that banked home to give the Bonnies one last chance, 75-73, with seven seconds to go. Forced to foul, the Bonnies sent Vojinovic to the line where she gave Bona an opportunity by hitting just one of two.

As time expired, an attempt to tie the game hit off the front iron.

Bona will return to George Mason on Tuesday in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament in Fairfax, Va. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. and the winner of that contest advances to the quarterfinals in Richmond on Friday, March 2
