OPENING TIP
- The Bonnies have won back-to-back games and are coming off a 61-57 victory over La Salle Wednesday night at the Reilly Center. Asianae Johnson led the way for the Bonnies offensively, pouring in a team-high 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the field.
- Tori Harris registered her second double-double of the season and the seventh of her career with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Also in double figures for the Brown and White was Taylor Napper who chipped in a career-high 13 points and grabbed five boards.
- Bona's has been busy during conference play and are one of just four Atlantic 10 teams to have played seven conference contests along with Duquesne, Richmond and Fordham.
JOHNSON OWNS JANUARY
- Senior Asianae Johnson has been outstanding of late for the Bonnies, scoring 20 or more points in five straight games. She becomes the first Bonnies player to do so since Hilary Waltman scored 20 or more points in seven straight games during the 1997-98 season. Waltman is the program's all-time leading scorer with 2,106 career points.
- During the five-game span, the Brooklyn native is averaging 22.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 48.9 percent from the floor.
- Johnson has really shined in the second half of games during her recent run, scoring at least 12 points in four out of the five games in the second half and overtime, averaging 14.6 points per game.
- While Johnson continues to score at will, she is doing it efficiently as well. Overall, Johnson ranks sixth in the Atlantic 10 and first among A-10 guards in field goal percentage, shooting 44.5 percent from the field.
LOPS IN ELITE COMPANY
- I'yanna Lops'Â ability to alter shots at the rim has put her in elite company in Bonnies program history. Her 30 blocks this season are tied for eighth all-time for a single season with Katie Healy, '16, who rejected 30 shots during the 2012-13 season. Healy went on to block a program-record 155 shots during her four-year career. Lops enters Wednesday only needing one block to move into a tie for seventh place with Lisa Vizzoca, '96.
- Lops ranks fourth in the A-10 with 40 blocks and her 1.8 swats per game is also fourth. As a team, the Bonnies rank second in blocks (74) and blocks per game (4.1).
SERIES HISTORY
- St. Bonaventure and Fordham square off for the 45th time Saturday afternoon. The Bonnies hold a 24-20 edge in the all-time series, but the Rams have won the last seven matchups between the schools. Bona's last defeated Fordham Jan. 6, 2016 at the Reilly Center, 55-41. The Bonnies are 9-13 all-time at Rose Hill Gym.
SCOUTING FORDHAM
- The Rams enter Saturday's contest with an overall record of 14-5 and are 5-2 in Atlantic 10 play.
