ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure swimming and diving head coach
Mike Smiechowski has announced the program's schedule for the 2025-26 season.
The lineup consists of two home meets and eight away meets, culminating in the Atlantic 10 Championships beginning on Feb. 18 at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va.
The season will kick off on Oct. 9 as the Bonnies will travel to face Penn State. With a quick turnaround, they will then travel to Rutgers for a tri-meet against the hosts and Fordham on Oct. 11.
Bona will then make another trek to face against a familiar opponent, matching up against Cleveland State on Oct. 24-25. Staying on the move, the team's next meet will be away against Little Three rival Niagara on Nov. 1.
The Bonnies will see their first home action of the season on Nov. 7 as Canisius will take a trip to the Reilly Center Pool, rounding out the year's Little Three action. Both the men and women defeated the Golden Griffins last season by scores of 168-50 and 141-76, respectively.
Quickly getting back on the road, the team will again travel to the campus of Cleveland State to compete in the Magnus Cup on Nov. 20-22. Other programs accompanying the Bonnies at the meet will be Akron, John Carroll, Xavier, Le Moyne, Valparaiso, Binghamton, and Northern Colorado. Last year, the men placed second out of 10 teams in the meet while the women placed seventh out of 14.
Bonaventure will then match up with Cornell on the road on Jan. 10 before returning home for Senior Day on Jan. 24 to face Colgate.
Following Senior Day, the women's team will travel to Duquesne on Jan. 31 for a dual meet while the men's team will stay dormant. The two will then reconvene from Feb. 5-7 as they compete in the Cavalier Invitational at Virginia, the final action of the season before the Atlantic 10 Championships.
The Bonnies will be looking to improve upon a 2024-25 season in which the men finished second in the conference while the women set two program records during the championship meet.
