BUFFALO, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure women's basketball team tipped-off its two-game weekend road trip with a start-to-finish 69-44 win over Canisius on Saturday afternoon at the Koessler Center.

It was the Bona frontcourt doing most of the damage as the combination of senior Audrey Latendresse, sophomore Ashley Edwards and freshman Dana Mitchell went for a total of 45 points. Latendresse finished with a game-high 17 points, including 14 in the second half. Edwards just missed posting her third double-double of the season with 16 points and nine rebounds, while nine of Mitchell's 12 points came in the first half.

The win is the Bonnies second-straight away from home and evens their record at 5-5 on the season. The loss is the third-straight for the Griffs at home as they fall to 6-4.

Back-to-back buckets by Mitchell ignited a 9-0 run by the Bonnies over the first 3:37 of the game. Junior Priscilla Edwards knocked down a pair of free throws and senior Audrey Latendresse sank a three-pointer from the left wing for the other five points.

The Golden Griffs climbed to within five, 11-6, but a 17-4 Bona run that absorbed nearly nine minutes gave the Brown and White its largest lead of the half (18) at 28-10 with 5:55 remaining. During the spurt St. Bonaventure received

St. Bonaventure took a 31-14 lead into the half as both teams struggled to put up points over the final six minutes. Canisius made just five field goals in the first half (5-21) and committed 11 turnovers. The Bonnies relied on the long range jumper in the opening 20 minutes as they equaled Canisius' total field goals with five trifectas.

The Bonnies were able to sustain their first half momentum early in the second half as the Brown and White continued to add to the lead with a 10-2 spurt to make it 41-16. After sitting out most of the first half in foul trouble, Latendresse returned in the second half in a big way with the first five points, followed by an old-fashioned three-point play from Ashley Edwards.

St. Bonaventure will return to action on Monday night in Teaneck, N.J., when it takes on Fairleigh Dickinson at 7 p.m.
