Latendresse guides Bonnies to 56-43 win at Cleveland State

CLEVELAND, OHIO - Led by 22 points and 10 rebounds from senior Audrey Latendresse, the St. Bonaventure women's basketball team posted a 56-43 win at Cleveland State on Monday night in Goodman Arena.

The Bonnies snapped a 12-game road losing streak that dated back to last season.

With the score tied at 26 at the break, St. Bonaventure was able to open things up early in the second half. Latendresse scored 11 points during an 18-6 run over the opening 8:32 that made it 44-32.

The Brown and White shot 45 percent (19-42) from the field, while limiting the Vikings to a 27 percent clip (19-42) from the field. Cleveland State converted only five of 26 shots (19 percent) in the second half.

Latendresse's double-double is the sixth of her career and second of the season.

The Bonnies jumped out a 12-2 lead 7:39 into the game. A pair of three-pointers by Latendresse and sophomore Katelyn Murray wrapped around a Cleveland State field goal got things started. Sophomore Ashley Edwards added the next two buckets, then Latendresse finished off the run with a lay-up.

The lead grew to 20-8 with 9:26 remaining, but the Vikings reeled off 18 of the half's final 24 points to even the score at 26-26 heading into the break.

Edwards and Murray both finished with eight points, while junior Maripier Malo turned in a solid performance with five points and six rebounds in 18 minutes. Junior point guard Priscilla Edwards chipped in five rebounds and three assists. Freshman guard Andrea Doneth had six points and four rebounds.

Brittany Korth was the lone player in double-figures for Cleveland State with 13 points.

Saturday, St. Bonaventure will play its only home game in the month of December when it welcomes nationally ranked Bowling Green to the Reilly Center. Tip off is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. and is the first game of a doubleheader.

GAME NOTES
- Bonnies are now 4-0 all-time against the Horizon League, including 2-0 against Cleveland State.
- With its 37-34 edge on the boards, St. Bonaventure has now out-rebounded six of its first eight opponents.
- Audrey Latendresse is now just 154 points and 62 rebounds away from becoming the seventh player in program history to compile 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
- Latendresse has reached double figure points in 12 straight games dating back to last season.
