ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Led by a one over-par 72
by senior Nathan Peck,
St. Bonaventure got off to a solid start at the Navy Spring
Invitational on Saturday, carding a team score of 305 to sit in a
tie for fourth place heading into Sunday's final round at the Naval
Academy Golf Course.
The Bonnies' score of 305 is tied for fourth with West Chester
University out of the field of 21 teams. Navy (286) sits in first
place 10 strokes ahead of Columbia. Bucknell (304) is just one
stroke ahead of the Brown and White for third.
Peck posted back-to-back 36s on the par 71, 6,528-yard course to
also sit in a tie for fourth place out of the field of 104
participants. The Tecumseh, Ontario native is five strokes behind
Navy's Ben Hayes and in search of his fifth top 10 finish of the
year.
Freshman Kevin
Lewis provided the Bonnies with a solid second score
with a three over-par 75. Lewis enters Sunday's final round in a
four-way tie for 14th place overall. Graduate student
Andrew Fretthold hold produced the team's final
score in the 70s with a 78. Junior Chris
Stoddard's 81 was the fourth and final counting
sore.
Sunday's final round will tee off at 8:15 a.m.
