HAMILTON, N.Y. – Seniors Michael Bucko and Gabe Williams each had rounds in red figures, but the St. Bonaventure golf team struggled to find consistency during its opening tournament of the season on the way to an 11th-place finish at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational in Central New York.
Williams showed the way for the Bonnies, just missing a top-10 finish as he placed 11th out of 92 competitors on the individual leaderboard. He drained six birdies in an opening round even par-72 and completed Saturday's 36 holes with a 75. On Sunday, he fired 1-under 71 to rise up the leaderboard.
Bucko started the season on a strong note, playing the Seven Oaks Golf Club layout in 2-under 70 during Saturday's opening round of the 54-hole tournament. The fourth-year Bonnie settled for 78 in the afternoon round as the teams played around a heavy rain storm late and matched that total in Sunday's final round to finish 51st.
Freshman Colin Barber made his collegiate debut with rounds of 75-75-76 to also tie for 51st.
Senior Caleb Decker (74-76-79) and sophomores Braddock Damore (81-76-75) along with Vinny Liguori (77-77-80) completed the Bonaventure lineup.

UP NEXT
The Bonnies head out to the Blue Hen Invitational, a new event on the 2025 fall schedule, in Wilmington, Del. Monday, Sept. 15 and Tuesday, Sept. in a 54-hole tournament.
