How It Happened
St. Bonaventure erased a nine point halftime deficit to claim a nine point victory over Binghamton on Saturday. The first half was a very frustrating one for the Brown and White, as they failed to get the ball inside and had some difficulty finishing plays. The Bonnies scored the first basket of the game, and that was the only time they would lead until just under six minutes remaining in the game when Bowker hit a three to regain the lead for the Bonnies.
Both team's shot 11-24 (45.8%) in the 1st half, with SBU going 2-5 from the free throw line while Binghamton was 9-10. Both squads were also even in three other categories: fouls (8), turnovers (10) and steals (5). Hannah Little had a team-high eight points at the break en route to her career-high 20 point performance.
Bowker, who tied her career-high with five three-pointers made in today's contest, capitalized on four of those in the second half. The Bonnies shot almost 15% better from the field than the Bearcats in the second half, and went 10-13 from the free-throw line, compared to Binghamton's 4-5 from the line. St. Bonaventure rallied late when it mattered most to claim the nine point victory, improving to 7-3 on the season.
