The Short Story:
The St. Bonaventure women's basketball team was defeated on Sunday, Nov. 16 at James Madison, 76-43. Junior guard Nyla Rueter led the Bonnies with 11 points, while Hannah Little and Gabby Richmond were tied for a team-high six rebounds.

James Madison capitalized on St. Bonaventure's offensive struggles as they outshot the Bonnies by 18 percent. The Bonnies finished the game with a field-goal percentage of 23.6% (13-55), while JMU shot 41.9% (26-62). The Brown and White were outmuscled on the boards, 53-27. The advantage allowed James Madison to convert 23 second chance points. 

How It Happened:

• St. Bonaventure began the game by winning the tip and scoring on its first possession off a 12-foot jumper by Katie Healy.
• James Madison went on an 8-2 run at the 13:01 mark, erasing a one-point lead by the Bonnies.
• JMU started putting distance between the two as it would lead by 10 points with less than two minutes to go.
• The Bonnies finished the first half with just 14 points. Little, Richmond, Healy and Rueter combined for all points scored by SBU in the first.
• St. Bonaventure started the second half missing its first four shots.
• James Madison extended its lead from 10 to 22 in six minutes to begin the half.
• Nyla Rueter cut into the Dukes' lead by an old-fashion three-point play. Rueter was fouled on the way up for a lay-up.
• At the 11:20 mark, Gabby Richmond snagged an offensive rebound and put it back-up for the bucket. This would be the closest the Bonnies got to JMU as they were down, 43-25.
• James Madison would go on a 13-4 run to extend its lead to 27 points.
• JMU went on to close out the game by outscoring SBU, 18-11.

Beyond The Box Score:

• 22 of the Bonnies' 43 points came from inside the paint.
• St. Bonaventure recorded a total of eight steals. Healy and Rueter each had two, while Little, Michael, Mariah Ruff and Miranda Drummond had one, apiece.
• St. Bonaventure continues to be strong from the free-throw line, shooting 81% (17-21) on the day. Rueter went a perfect 7-7 from the line.
• Bonaventure's struggle from behind the three-point line continues as it has begun the season 0-22 and 0-12 on Sunday.  
• In the final two minutes of the game, St. Bonaventure played all four freshmen at once.
• Matea Britvar recorded her first basket of her collegiate career in the second half. Britvar had four points and was 2-2 from the field.  
• Miranda Drummond also registered her first points as a member of the Bonnies.
• Taryne Shull made her first appearance as a member of the Bonnies. Shull played in the final two minutes.
• Eight of the 12 players for the Bonnies tallied a rebound.
• JMU unveiled its NCAA Tournament and CAA Championship banner prior to tip.
• Today's game was the first meeting between the two programs.

Up Next: St. Bonaventure will continue on its road trip as it travels to Toledo on Thursday, Nov. 20 and then to Detroit on Saturday, Nov. 22. Toledo is coming off a loss to Cleveland State on Friday.
