This past Saturday the Bonnies traveled down to Notre Dame College for a Rugby East exhibition match. Led by Captain and Vice Captain Colin Sustersic and Alex Holden, the Bonnies emerged victorious in a hard-fought win.
The team held possession in NDC's half of the pitch for a majority of the first half, allowing the team to put up a 15-0 lead going into half time. Points in the first half were scored by Wesley Chiromo and Colin Sustersic. Coming out of the half NDC played a much stronger game, and the Bonnies had to withstand a tough NDC comeback. Freshman Lucas Weimar scored a try for the Bonnies in the second half, which was more than enough to keep the team ahead, finishing with a 22-12 victory.
Although it was a tough game, the JV squad did not achieve the same results, losing 10-7 to NDC. Will Hogan scored the Bonnies only try, with Ultan Horrigan completing the conversion.
