Johnson gave the Bonnies their first lead since the first quarter with 55 second left in the third, 42-40.

A quick 5-0 spurt from the Rams, however, gave the hosts a 45-42 edge heading into the final period.

Johnson went to the free throw line with 2:23 to play, making both and bringing the Bonnies within five, 59-54.

That is as close as they would get as the Rams locked down defensively, earning the victory.

St. Bonaventure (10-9, 2-6) bounced back in the second, outscoring the Rams 9-4 over the first three minutes to pull within one, 19-18.
