Women's Basketball Returns Home To Host Colgate Wednesday

The St. Bonaventure University women's basketball team returns home to host Colgate Wednesday, Dec. 21 at the Reilly Center. Tipoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.

Wednesday is the canned goods drive at The RC. Any person who brings a canned good item receives free entry into the game.

OPENING TIP

  • The Bonnies look to rebound following a pair of road losses at Robert Morris and Marshall last Friday and Sunday. Robert Morris took down the Bonnies, 63-39, Friday evening while the Thundering Herd got the better of the Bonnies, 61-53, Sunday afternoon.
  • Maddie Dziezgowski returned to the lineup Friday evening against the Colonials after missing the previous four games due to injury. The junior scored a team-high 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
  • In Sunday's contest at Marshall, I'yanna Lops led the Bonnies with 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Tianna Johnson chipped in 10 points and four rebounds.
  • Kaitlyn Parker has grabbed eight or more rebounds in three straight contests. She has five games this season with six or more rebounds and is averaging 4.0 rebounds per game for the season. Parker pulled down a career-high nine rebounds in her first career start at Marshall.

FULL SLATE

  • The Bonnies are one of two teams in the Atlantic 10 to play a 15-game non-conference slate this season. Bona's is joined by Saint Louis as the only teams playing 15 games prior to the start of A-10 play. Dayton plays the fewest non-conference games among A-10 foes with 11.

SERIES HISTORY

  • St. Bonaventure and Colgate are set to meet for the 24th time Wednesday afternoon. The Bonnies lead the all-time series over the Raiders, 17-6, and have won 12 out of the last 13 matchups. Bona's is currently on a nine-game winning streak over Colgate, taking down the Raiders last season on the road, 61-56. The Bonnies are 9-3 all-time against the Raiders at the Reilly Center, dating back to the 1982-83 season.

ABOUT COLGATE

  • Colgate enters Wednesday's contest with an overall record of 5-5 and are coming off a victory over Division III opponent Oswego State, 87-30, last Saturday. The Raiders finished last season 6-24 and were picked to finish seventh in the Patriot League preseason poll.
  • The Raiders are coached by Ganiyat Adeduntan who is in her second season as the head coach at Colgate. She is 11-29 with the Raiders and 19-72 all time as a head coach, spending two seasons at Division III Wheelock from 2012-14.
  • Taylor Golembiewski leads Colgate in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. As a team, the Raiders shoot 41.3 percent from the field and 77.3 percent from the free throw line.
  • Through Sunday's games, Colgate ranks 28th in the NCAA in three-point percentage defense (24.8 percent) and 45th in scoring defense (56.3 ppg allowed).
