ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure won a close and competitive match over Brown University on Saturday.
The Bonnies got off to a strong start by scoring an early try. However, Brown responded with points of their own. Bonaventure led 5-3 at the halftime break.
The second half opened with more physicality and impressive play. Both teams fought hard and in the final two minutes, Brown took a 13-12 lead.
A late-game penalty kick by the Bonnies gifted the pack a 15-13 victory as time expired.
"We knew it was going to be a physical match and a gritty game at that. We felt as though we were in control for most of the game and managed to execute when we needed to," said Noah Edwards.
The Bonnies now prepare for the national championship game against Notre Dame College on December 9th in Houston.
