ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – A trio of St. Bonaventure University golf team members have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Teams for their work in the classroom and on the course this past year as Jack Angelucci, Peter Byrne and Erik Stauderman all received honors.

The 2023 Academic All-District Men's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions. At-large sports include golf, fencing, ice hockey, gymnastics, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, water polo, beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, field hockey and wrestling.

A graduate student from New Hartford, N.Y., Angelucci made his mark on the program record books during his one season with the program after transferring to St. Bonaventure for his fifth year of eligibility. He played in 28 rounds with a counting score in 26, averaging 74.17 which is good for seventh in program history. Angelucci also set the program record for rounds of par or better in a season (13) and his 87 birdies on the year are third-most in school history. He capped his collegiate career with a top-15 finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship.

In the classroom, Angelucci is a sports journalism major with a 3.59 cumulative GPA.

Byrne, a junior from South Orange, N.J., is a marketing major with a 3.65 cumulative GPA. During this past year, he became a regular member of the team's lineup, with 14 of his 20 rounds on the year counting toward the team score. He posted a career-low round of 73 in March's Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate and had a low round of 75 in his A-10 Championship debut to close the season.

A five-year member of the Bonnies Golf program, Stauderman took a leading role this past year with a team-best scoring average of 74.11, sixth-best in school history. His 82 birdies on the year will rank fifth in school history and each of his 28 rounds on the year represented a counting score which leaves him as one of eight players in school history to achieve that feat in a season. He also set a personal record for career-low round with a 68 at the Golden Horseshoe while his 54-hole total of 217 at September's VCU Shootout represented another career-best.

Stauderman finished his career on a high note, posting a tie for 11th at the Atlantic 10 Championship, the best finish for a Bonnies player at the conference tournament since 2019.

The Poughkeepsie, N.Y. native starred in the classroom as well – he graduated with a degree in sports media last year, owning a cumulative GPA of 3.65. This year, he worked on a Master's in Sports Administration with a 3.91 GPA.

CSC Academic All-District honorees are nominated and voted on by sports information directors across the country. For more information about CSC Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Teams program, visit AcademicAllAmerica.com.
