NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – St. Bonaventure graduate student Erik Stauderman has earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 Golf All-Academic Team, conference officials announced. The team was selected by a vote of the league's golf communications directors.
A five-year member of the Bonnies Golf program, Stauderman took a leading role this past year with a team-best scoring average of 74.11, sixth-best in school history. His 82 birdies on the year will rank fifth in school history and each of his 28 rounds on the year represented a counting score which leaves him as one of eight players in school history to achieve that feat in a season. He also set a personal record for career-low round with a 68 at the Golden Horseshoe while his 54-hole total of 217 at September's VCU Shootout represented another career-best.
Stauderman finished his career on a high note, posting a tie for 11th at the Atlantic 10 Championship, the best finish for a Bonnies player at the conference tournament since 2019.
The Poughkeepsie, N.Y. native starred in the classroom as well – he graduated with a degree in sports media last year, owning a cumulative GPA of 3.65. This year, he worked on a Master's in Sports Administration with a 3.91 GPA.
Stauderman is one of only five Atlantic 10 golfers to earn the honor, joining Brian Garrett of Davidson, Milan Matineja of George Mason, Jakub Hrinda of George Washington and Mattias Varjun of VCU.
