ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure University Director of Athletics Joe Manhertz has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Oversight Committee.
The Division I Women's Basketball Oversight Committee is made up of 12 voting members and four non-voting members across Division I institutions.
The full committee roster includes: Brent Jones (AD, Sr. Vice Chancellor of Athletics/Director of Athletics – Troy University), Darrice Griffin (Deputy Director of Athletics – University of Georgia), Ketra L. Armstrong (FAR, Professor, Sport Management – University of Michigan), Brooke Wyckoff (Head Coach – Florida State University), Olivia Summiel (Student-Athlete Representative – Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University), Terry Gawlik (Director of Athletics – University of Idaho), Tomekia Reed (Head Women's Basketball Coach – Jackson State), Jacqueline P. Blackett (SWA – Columbia University – Barnard College), Patricia Anumgba (Towson University), David Harris (Director of Athletics – University of Northern Iowa), Drew Speraw (Associate Commissioner, Basketball – Western Athletic Conference), Julie Roe Lach (Commissioner – Horizon League), Kelly Barsky (SWA, Deputy Athletics Director – University of California, Santa Barbara) and Danielle Donehew (Executive Director – Women's Basketball Coaches Association).
"It is an honor to be selected to serve and help grow the game of women's basketball," Manhertz said. "I look forward to serving and helping student-athletes have an even greater experience."
Manhertz's term on the committee runs through June 2027.
About the Division I Women's Basketball Oversight Committee:
The Women's Basketball Oversight Committee will ensure that appropriate oversight of women's basketball is maintained, will enhance the development and public perception of the sport and make recommendations related to regular-season and postseason women's basketball. The committee will prioritize enhancement of the student-athlete educational experience (academically and athletically), and in doing so, promote student-athletes' personal growth and leadership development.
The Women's Basketball Oversight Committee will supervise qualifications and/or selection procedures for the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. The committee will review recommendations from the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee and process other issues related to the administration of the championship. The committee will assume many of the duties of the former NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Issues Committee and will provide direction to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Rules Committee regarding playing rules. The committee will be comprised of representatives from each divisional subgroup.
