Women’s Tennis Defeats Niagara at UB Invite

BUFFALO – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team took down Niagara, 6-1, at the UB Invite Saturday afternoon.

The Bonnies also competed against hosts Buffalo, but fell to the Bulls, 6-1.

Bona's started its match against the Purple Eagles in convincing fashion, sweeping all three doubles matched to earn the team point.

Cirkeline Lundberg, Anastasia Gubanova, Abbie Tyler and Isabella Venter all captured straight-set singles victories while Sienna Smith battled to a three-set win at No. 5 singles.

Against Buffalo, Gubanova came out on top at No. 2 singles in three sets, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.

The Bonnies are back in action Oct. 6 at the ITA Regionals at Columbia University.
