ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team knocked off Mercyhurst, 5-2, Wednesday morning at the SBU Tennis Center.

The Bonnies started fast against the Lakers, sweeping all three doubles matches to clinch the team point.

Cirkeline Lundberg and Abbie Tyler as well as Anastasia Gubanova and Isabella Venter captured 6-2 wins at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.

Kashish Bote and Sienna Smith completed the sweep of doubles at No. 3, winning 7-6.

In singles action, Venter was the first to post a victory, taking down Daria Rogova at No. 2 in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4. Smith battled to a three-set victory at No. 4 over Sara Bertolez Puente, 6-2, 6-7, 6-0.

Bote clinched the team victory at No. 5 singles, defeating Kiersten Brown in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 6-0.

Kelly Barnes also picked up a win in singles, besting Valentine Budin at No. 6 in three sets, 5-7, 7-5, 10-7.

The Bonnies are back in action Saturday, March 16 when they travel to take on Cornell. That match is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.
