Bonnies Drop Midweek Twinbill at Binghamton

VESTAL, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to Binghamton on the road Tuesday afternoon.

Binghamton bested the Bonnies 10-1 in game one and took the night cap, 9-1.

Game 1 – Binghamton 10, St. Bonaventure 1
The Bearcats struck first in game one in the bottom of the third.

Binghamton started the scoring with an RBI single with one out in the inning from Brianna Santos. The hosts made it a 4-0 game with a three-run home run off the bat of Elisa Allen. 

The Bonnies pulled one back in the top of the fourth when Kennedy Haberl singled home Kymora Wang from third. 

The Bearcats were able to push their lead back to four in the bottom half of the fourth with a safety squeeze from Gabby Guerrero.

Binghamton put the game out of reach in the bottom of the sixth, playing five runs capped up by Allen's second home run of the contest to earn the victory. 

Olivia Moon, Brooke Bobbey and Wang also registered hits for the Bonnies.

Game 2 – Binghamton 9, St. Bonaventure 1
Binghamton posted a three-run bottom of the second, scoring on a walk and a two-RBI single.

The Bearcats pushed across two insurance runs in the fourth on a fielder's choice and a sacrifice fly, giving the hosts a 5-0 advantage. 

Bona's got a run back on an Amelia Santos RBI groundout in the top of the sixth, making it a four-run game. 

Binghamton, however, answered with four runs in its half of the sixth which was capped off by a pinch-hit two-run home run from Sami Levine.

Olivia Whitecar, Sydney DeGram, Kelsey Brady and Reanna Perkins all tallied hits for the Brown and White. 

Tori McGraw scattered six hits in 5.1 innings of work, fanning three. 

The Bonnies are back in action Saturday, April 13 when they travel to take on Loyola Chicago.
