BUFFALO – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team defeated Niagara, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at the Buffalo Invitational.
Bona's regrouped after falling to Buffalo to begin the day to best Niagara.
The Bonnies swept all three doubles matches to start Sunday's contest against the Purple Eagles.
The duo of Tamara Bachmann and Isabella Venter took down Larisa Kotok and Gabriela Melo, 6-4, at the top flight while Cirkeline Lundberg and Sienna Smith best Saloni Tamang and Isabel Garcia, 7-5, at No. 2.
Kashish Bote and Abbie Tyler completed the doubles sweep with a 6-3 win over Mercedes Velasco and Valeria Mora at No. 3.
The Brown and White moved on to singles play where they captured wins at all six spots, claiming the team victory.
Lundberg, Venter and Tyler grabbed wins in straight sets while Bachmann, Smith and Bote battled to three-set triumphs.
The Bonnies opened their match against the Bulls with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, capturing the team point.
Cirkeline Lundberg and Abbie Tyler team up for a win at the top flight, defeating Esmee Andresen and Liv Roestel, 7-6.
The team of Tamara Bachmann and Isabella Venter took down Maria Glowacka and Jagmeet Kaur, 6-4, at No. 2 to earn the doubles point.
The Bulls, however, went on to win all six singles matches, earning the win.
