1/30/2025 1:00:00 PM

Welcome to "Behind The Bonnies," a new GoBonnies.com series where we get to know the student-athletes at St. Bonaventure University. In this edition, we meet Bonnies senior Chance Moore.

Senior Chance Moore has played his way into becoming one of the men's basketball teams premier players in his debut season with the Bonnies. Moore started the season off hot, scoring 18 points against CSUN,  27 points against Canisius and 18 points against Florida Gulf Coast in the first three games. Moore has scored double digits in 15 of the 21 games he's played in this season.

Moore earned Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors Nov. 11 after his opening week performance. Entering this week, Moore ranked sixth among all Atlantic 10 players and first among A-10 guards with 7.3 rebounds per game. Since 2000, only one Bonnies guard neared seven rebounds per game - Dominick Welch (6.9 rpg) in 2019-20. Offensively, he posted nearly 15 points per contest for the season.

Prior to arriving at St. Bonaventure, Moore played at Missouri State. While he was there, Moore started 20 of 31 games, averaging 10.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game last year. Moore was one of the top Missouri Valley reserves as he was named to the MVC All-Bench Team after recording 10 points per game as a sophomore in 2022-2023.

As a freshman, Moore played at Arkansas. Moore played in five games in 2021-2022 and saw action in an NCAA Tournament win over New Mexico State during the Razorbacks' Elite Eight run.

In high school, Moore became a four-star recruit out of McEachern High in Powder Springs, Ga. Moore was the No. 97 overall recruit in the 2021 class per 247Sports composite rankings while being ranked the No. 5 overall recruit from the state of Georgia. Moore was a finalist for the Sports Illustrated All-American team and McDonald's All-American squad.

How would you describe your game? A two-way player, I can score on all 3 levels. I can guard the 1-4 and I'm a very athletic player

What is your favorite basketball memory? My sophomore year of college when I dunked on this guy from USC

What are your plans after college? I would like to play basketball professionally but besides that I would like to get into real estate and start my own business.
