ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Men's swimming and diving sophomore
Mark Mizsei and women's swimming and diving freshman
Sophie Baker have been named the GoBonnies.com Student Athletes of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Oct. 26.
Mizsei snagged two event wins in the team's dual meet last week at Cleveland State.
A native of Budapest, Hungary, the second-year Bonnie took first place in the 200-fly with a time of 1:49.55. His mark of 1:48.25 earlier in the season against Fordham currently ranks third-best in the Atlantic 10.
Mizsei then captured a victory in the 100-fly, clocking in at 49.37, good for the eighth-best mark in the conference thus far this season.
Baker collected two wins of her own against Cleveland State, helping the women's team in a closely contested dual meet.
The Canton, Ohio native won the 100-back with a mark of 56.03 which ranks second in the conference this year. She also paced the field in the 100-fly, timing in at 58.40 which currently sits as a top-15 time in the conference.
Baker also contributed to a 400-free relay win, helping compile a time of 3:31.73 alongside
Kate Hill,
Laila Chance, and
Nele Vetter.Â
Both student-athletes will get another chance to perform on Saturday, Nov. 1 when the team travels for a dual meet at Niagara.
