Bonnies Fall to Fordham in Season Finale

BRONX, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team fell to Fordham, 5-0, on the road Saturday evening in the 2025 season finale.

The Rams were able to jump ahead early in the contest when Daniel Lang netted the game's first goal in the 11th minute.

Daniel D'Ippolito doubled the Fordham lead in the 21st minute on a penalty kick following a foul in the box.

The Bonnies looked to cut into the deficit in the 32nd minute when Dean Mercer sent a shot in on net, forcing Fordham goalkeeper Tristan Stephani to make a diving save.

Seth Hammond got a foot on the rebound, but hit chance went just over the bar.

The Rams struck for a third goal just out of the break in the 54th minute when Elias Bentencourt got in behind the Bonnies defense, taking a 3-0 lead.

The hosts tacked on a pair of insurance goals in the 84th and 89th minutes from Luca Bernoth and Andre Insalaco, respectively.

Hammond paced the Bonnies with six shots while Daniel Helle tallied five chances. Kyle Macfarlane also registered multiple shots with three.

As a team, the Bonnies outshot the Rams, 17-12.

Ben Choudhry earned the start in net for the Brown and White, making four saves while Alex Ohmart also saw time in goal with a save.

The Bonnies finish the season 3-9-3 overall and 1-5-2 in Atlantic 10 play.

QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH MICK GIORDANO
"Disappointing result and way to end the season. We had some good spells tonight, creating some wonderful chances and 17 shots which is wonderful attacking football, but ultimately didn't defend well enough against one of the best teams in the Atlantic 10. They punished us for that. We have to learn from this and this entire season as our expectations are to compete consistently on a day-to-day basis. Overall, it wasn't good but what was promising yet again is the willingness and determination to keep fighting until the end of the game. We appreciate everything the seniors did for our program. We will reflect, learn and move forward ensuring next year ends differently than this one. We will come back stronger and with an obsession to find success. Thank you to the staff and administration for all they did for our program this fall."
