ORLANDO, Fla. – The St. Bonaventure University women's tennis team fell to Rhode Island, 4-0, in the first round of the 2025 Atlantic 10 Tournament Thursday morning at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
Rhode Island got out to an early team lead with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, securing the team point.
At No. 2 singles, Sienna Smith was in a first set tiebreaker against Sophie Herrman, but the match was stopped due to Rhode Island clinching the win.
QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH MIKE BATES
"I'm proud of how hard this team competed today. We had good opportunities in doubles. In singles, we competed hard and never quit. It would have been easy to do, down a player, but this team fought to the end."
