RICHMOND, Va. – The St. Bonaventure men's and women's swimming and diving teams have each earned spots on the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division I Scholar All-America Teams after completing a successful fall semester in the classroom.

The SBU women's team compiled a 3.50 team GPA to make the cut with nearly 93 percent of the team achieving an individual semester GPA of 3.0 or better. Over 53 percent of the team notched a GPA of 3.5 or better to earn Dean's List honors with three student athletes working toward a perfect 4.0 (
Sydney Londergan,
Kathryn Lyons,
Maris Sadowski).
On the men's side, the team put together a combined semester GPA of 3.41. Over 46 percent of the squad compiled a 3.5 GPA or better with
David Mutter and
Mark Polos earning perfect 4.0 academic marks.Â
"The academic commitment demonstrated by these teams is exceptional," said Samantha Barany, the executive director of the CSCAA. "These student-athletes continue to set a standard for excellence by succeeding at the highest level both in the pool and in the classroom, and the CSCAA is proud to recognize their dedication and achievement."

This honor represents the fourth fall semester in a row that both the Bonaventure men's and women's teams have been selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams.

Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the first organization of college coaches in America and serves as a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
