HAMPTON, Va. – The St. Bonaventure men's swimming and diving team finished the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championships in third place on Saturday, earning a top-three spot at the meet for the third straight year. A bronze medal for sophomore
Mark Mizsei in the 200-fly highlighted the day's action.

The Bonnies scored 506.50 points to claim third place with George Washington (784.83) and George Mason (585.67) taking first and second, respectively. La Salle (437), Davidson (420), Saint Louis (325) and Fordham (286) rounded out the team standings in that order.

With his bronze medal, Mizsei added to an already successful performance at this year's conference championships. On Friday, the sophomore set a new program record when he recorded a time of 46.49 in the 100-fly.

The Bonnies collected three total medals and set two new program records throughout the championship meet. Earning medals alongside Mizsei were senior diver
Ben O'Neill, who captured silver in the 1-meter dive (325.15 points), and junior
Kevyn Collazo Torres, who picked up bronze in the 400-IM (3:53.27). The other program record was set by freshman
Emanuele Zingaro when he posted a mark of 19.71 in the 50-free earlier in the week.

Mizsei was one of four Bonnies to qualify after the 200-fly prelims, where he clocked in at 1:45.98 on Saturday. He earned bronze medal and a spot on the podium after improving to a time of 1:44.33 in the championship final.

Joining Mizsei in that heat were freshman
David Mutter (1:45.79) and junior
Joseph Pyon (1:47.71), who placed fourth and eighth, respectively. Mutter clocked in at 1:45.79 in the prelims while Pyon notched a mark of 1:47.71. Freshman
Willyan Haruo Matana found a pace of 1:50.39 to qualify for the consolation final, where he placed third and recorded a mark of 1:48.81.

The 400-free relay team of Zingaro and juniors Pyon, Collazo Torres and
Carlos Hidalgo missed the podium by just under two seconds, placing fourth (2:56.59).

Zingaro claimed another fourth-place finish in the 100-free (43.65) after he qualified for the championship final with a time of 43.69 in the prelims. In the consolation final, Hidalgo improved upon his preliminary time of 45.06 when he clocked in at 44.89 to take fifth place in the heat.

Senior
Mark Polos qualified for the 200-breast championship final with a mark of 1:59.83, where he took fourth (2:00.79). Following Polos in prelims were sophomore
Connor Peck (2:03.36) and freshman
Marcos Bravo (2:03.54). Peck placed fifth in the consolation final (2:02.97) while Bravo finished seventh (2:03.06).

SBU sent four swimmers to the lone 1650-free finals heat: junior
Johnny Edwards, senior
Will Foggin and freshmen
Matheus Rinaldi and
Aleksandras Aleinikovas. Edwards placed sixth (15:28.65) while Foggin finished ninth (15:52.04) and Rinaldi finished 14
th (16:16.32). Aleinikovas recorded a mark of 19:09.68 but did not earn placement.

All three Bonnies who swam in the 200-back prelims qualified for the consolation finals. They were senior
Henry Wilkes (1:47.80), senior
Luigi Termine (1:48.63) and sophomore
Grant Chapa (1:49.69). In that consolation final, Wilkes placed third (1:47.11), Termine placed fifth (1:48.54) and Chapa finished seventh (1:49.81).
