Ben Metcalf is in his first season as an Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant with St. Bonaventure. He serves as the primary media contact for the men’s basketball program.
Over the 2024-25 college athletics season, Metcalf served as a media relations intern with Villanova Athletics. He was the primary contact for the university’s field hockey, baseball and men’s tennis programs. With the field hockey program, Metcalf promoted a program-record 13 Big East weekly awards and four postseason conference awards, the team’s most since 2018. Spearheading the Villanova baseball programs social media efforts in the spring, Metcalf achieved a 95 percent increase in reach over the previous year.
Metcalf graduated from the University of Michigan in 2024 with a B.A. in Sport Management. While there, he worked as a communications intern with Michigan Athletics, supporting the external communications efforts of the men’s basketball, men’s golf and women’s golf programs.
He held a variety of sports marketing and communications internships throughout his undergraduate tenure, spanning from minor league baseball to start-up agencies. He also served as a volunteer assistant to the media relations coordinator at the 2024 NCAA Regional Final in Detroit.
Originally from Holland, Mich., Metcalf is the son of Matt and Terri Metcalf. He has one brother, Ethan.
