Kaserra Owens joined the Bonnies coaching staff in August 2024 and returns for her second season in 2025-26.
Owens joins the Bonnies after four seasons as the head coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
While with the Panthers, Owens oversaw the day-to-day operations of the program, including developing and conducting practices, planned and executed game day duties, organized weekly meetings with student-athletes which included academic advising, increased fundraising by 600 percent and developed a yearly local youth basketball camp.
Prior to becoming the head coach, Owens served as the assistant coach at UPB during the 2018-19 season, following a standout playing career for the Panthers.
Owens was a four-year starter at UPB, playing in 97 career games, in which she scored 900 points, grabbed 503 rebounds and dished out 197 assists. She was a part of 66 wins and reached the Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference playoffs in all four years, making one appearance in the conference championship game from 2013-17. She was a three-time AMCC Academic All-Conference and a two-time AMCC All-Conference selection.
A native of Bradford, Pa., she played her scholastic career at Bradford Area High School. She was the leading scorer on the 2011-12 and 2012-13 Owls teams that went 45-4 over the two-year span, winning District 9 titles in each season. She finished her high school career with 1,020 points.
She participated in the 2024 NCAA Division III Institute for Administrative Advancement and the 2024 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.
Owens graduated from Pitt-Bradford with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in psychology.
