The GoBonnies.com Male Athlete of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Feb. 26 is men’s lacrosse senior Jake Rosa.
The Bonnies men’s lacrosse team also scored a home victory on Saturday, the second consecutive hat trick for Rosa.
The fourth-year Bonnies attacker was excellent last week. He opened the week with a hat trick at defending ASUN champion Robert Morris as he tallied three goals and also caused a turnover.
In Saturday’s win, he posted seven points on five goals and two assists, also scooping two groundballs as the Bonnies defeated VMI, 15-9. In that victory, he also surpassed 100 career points, becoming just the second Bona’s member of the 100-point club.
During the week, he scored eight goals and 10 points and his shot percentage was over 61 percent.
For the season, Rosa leads the Bonnies with 13 goals and 18 points. SBU plays at UMBC Wednesday night.
