The GoBonnies.com Female Athlete of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending March 5 is women’s tennis junior Anastasia Gubanova.
Gubanova helped the Bonnies to a split of two matches last week with Buffalo and Saint Joseph’s. She went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles for the Brown and White.
In Friday’s match at UB, Gubanova took down Gabriella Akopyan in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.
In Sunday’s win over Saint Joseph’s, Gubanova teamed up with Isabella Venter at the top doubles spot, earning a win to help the Bonnies earn the doubles point.
Gubanova bested Fabiana Tort-Umpierre at No. 4 singles, winning in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3.
