The GoBonnies.com Male Athlete of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending March 5 is baseball graduate student Danny Manion.
Â
Manion had a career day at the plate to lead the Bonnies to their first victory of the season Saturday afternoon at New Mexico, 17-8.
Â
He finished game one of a twinbill with five hits, two home runs, and seven RBIs.
Â
Saturday’s performance marked his second multi-home run game of his career with the previous two-homer effort coming on May 21, 2021 against Fordham.
Â
In 2019, Kevin Higgins registered five hits in an 18-6 triumph over Penn State, while 2017 Bona alum and current pro product Bubba Hollins drove in eight runs during a 17-4 win at Davidson. Also, former Bonnie David Vaccaro also had a seven RBI game vs. George Mason during the 2016 season.
Â
Hollins’ effort stands as the best run-producing day by a Bonnies player in a single game over the past three decades.
