St. Bonaventure

Dean Mercer netted the game-winning goal for the Bonnies in a thrilling comeback win over George Washington Saturday evening at the Marra Athletics Complex.

Following the game-tying goal in the 79th minute, Mercer pounced on a deflected ball in the 82nd minute and unleashed a shot from outside the box that wiggled through traffic and into the back of the net, putting the Bonnies ahead, 2-1.

Mercer has started all nine games this season for the Bonnies as of Sept. 29, tallying three points on a goal and an assist.
