The GoBonnies.com Athlete of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Sept. 5 is men’s soccer freshman Matthew Wrobel.

Wrobel made an immediate impact on the field for the Bonnies, scoring two goals in as many games while playing in his first collegiate contests.

The freshman forward put his name in the stat sheet in the 61^st minute last Monday on the road at Binghamton, finishing a feed from Francesco Caorsi.

Against Canisius last Friday, Wrobel extended the Bonnies lead to 2-0 in the 19^th minute for his second goal of the week. His score proved to be important as the Bonnies and Griffs would go on to draw, 2-2, in double overtime.

Through his first two games, the Mississauga, Ontario native leads the Atlantic 10 and also ranks atop the NCAA in shots on goal per game, averaging three attempts on target. Wrobel’s two goals ranks fourth in the A-10 among all players.
