The Pat Panzarella Outdoor Tennis Center was formally dedicated in April 2026 as the new state-of-the-art facility gives the Bonnies one of the top tennis centers in the region.
The new, six-court facility provides a modern venue for practices and matches, significantly enhancing the experience for current and future student-athletes.

The facility is named for the late Pat Panzarella who led the Bonnies' tennis program for decades and left a profound influence on the lives of his players both on and off the court. Panzarella taught English at St. Bonaventure for more than 50 years. As a coach, Panzarella won 333 matches coaching both the Bonnies men's and women's programs and was inducted into SBU's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003. He passed away in October 2025.
The complex was constructed thanks to a significant gift from Michael and Kristeen Hickey, both from the Class of 1984. Michael Hickey is chair of the university's Board of Trustees. Kristeen Hickey played tennis for the Bonnies during her time at SBU.
Located southeast of the Bonnies softball field on the Marra Athletics Complex, the new location was selected as the university continues to focus on centralizing its athletic facilities in one general location.
