CLEVELAND, Ohio – Looking to stop a two-game losing streak, the men's soccer team (3-5) hits the road for its first midweek match of the year when it faces Cleveland State University (2-5-1) Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Last season, the Bonnies defeated Cleveland State, 1-0, in their season opener at McGraw-Jennings Field. That win avenged a season-opening 3-0 loss to the Vikings in 2009.

Cleveland State, a member of the Horizon League, comes into the match on a three-game losing streak, its most recent setback coming in a 2-1 overtime decision at home to Robert Morris on Sunday.

The game against the Bonnies will be the second of a three-game homestand for the Vikings, who finished last year 9-10-1. They return nine of their top 10 scorers from last season. Junior goalkeeper Brad Stuver was named the Horizon League Goalkeeper of the Year last year when he had three shutouts and 87 saves – 14 more than the second-place finisher.

Stuver will have a formidable offensive test from the Bonnies, who rank second in the Atlantic 10 in shots (94) and assists (eight), and are tied for fourth in goals scored (eight).

Individually, sophomore James Reed leads the entire conference with nine points, and also paces the league with four goals. Fellow classmate Emmett O'Connor leads the A-10 with four assists.

Following Wednesday's match, the Brown and White return home to face Cornell on Monday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m.
