ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team (5-12, 3-4) will play Friday's (Nov. 2) game at Olean High School hoping to improve their chances of appearing in their first Atlantic 10 Tournament since 2010. La Salle (5-6-4, 1-3-3) comes to Olean for the first time since 2009 looking to cling to their postseason hopes as well.
The Bonnies will need to win both games this weekend to have a chance at advancing to the postseason. In addition to two wins, SBU needs a little bit of help from other teams in the conference.
Last weekend the Bonnies came away with a 4-1 win on road at UMass and a 4-1 loss to Rhode Island. SBU took a tie score with the Rams into the locker room at halftime but would give up three goals in the second half to split the weekend.
LaSalle is coming off a loss and looking to add another win to their 4-2-1 road record. Junior midfielder Jason Plumhoff, leading the team this season in points (13) and goals (5), will be a force to be reckoned with for the La Salle attack.
Since 2006, the Bonnies are 2-1-1 against La Salle with the last matchup in 2010. The Bonnies took home the 3-0 win on the road.
The Bonnies will also host the Fordham Rams this weekend, again looking to bolster their winning record and find a place in the A-10 Championship. The Rams are coming off a tie against Saint Joseph's last weekend and will look to improve upon their 2-3-2 road record.
Fordham goalkeeper Ricky Berotti made his first career- start during the game against Saint Joseph's, keeping the team at bay and making two saves.
The last time the Bonnies and the Rams met was in 2010 with the Bonnies falling to the Rams 2-1 in two overtimes.
Friday's match is set to kick off at 3:00 p.m. at Olean High School. The address is 401 Wayne Street, Olean, N.Y. Live Stats will still be available on GoBonnies.com
