ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. -The Bonnies (5-13, 3-5) will play their final game of the regular season at Olean High School against the Fordham Rams (5-7-4, 1-4-3) with their Atlantic 10 Championship hopes on the line. Before the game, SBU will celebrate the careers of four seniors.
The Bonnies took a tough 1-0 loss to La Salle on Friday. In that game SBU trailed for 85 minutes and despite generating plenty of chances in the second half and outshooting the Explorers, it was La Salle who prevailed.
The Bonnies will need to win today to have a chance at making it to their first Atlantic 10 Championship since 2010. If they win, SBU needs La Salle, Butler and Rhode Island all to lose or tie. If any of those teams win the Bonnies will be out. All three teams are playing on the road against team above them in the standings.
Fordham comes to Olean following a 3-0 loss to Duquesne on Friday. With the loss, the Rams fell to 5-7-4 overall, 1-4-3 in the A-10. Fordham will look to play spoiler for the Bonnies as they are already eliminated from postseason contention. The last time the Bonnies and the Rams met was in 2010 with the Bonnies falling, 2-1 in two overtimes.
Sunday's Match is set to kick off from Olean at 1:00 p.m.
