ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team (0-4) looks to pick up its first wins of the 2012-13 season at the Mayor's Cup Invitational this weekend at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y. The Bonnies will face the Hartwick University Hawks (0-1-2) Friday (Sept. 7) at 5:30 p.m. On Sunday (Sept. 9) the team will face the University of Syracuse (3-1) at noon. Both matches will take place at Hartick's Elmore Field.

The Bonnies' losing streak extended to four games with a 4-0 loss to Virginia Tech in the James Madison Invitational Tournament last Sunday. Virginia Tech scored all four goals in the second half. Opponents have outscored St. Bonaventure 15-2 in four games. Junior Brad Beaumont and senior Adam Scott are the only Bonaventure goal scorers so far this season.

The Hawks come into their home opener following two ties with Bradley University and Mercer University, 1-1 and 2-2 respectively, in the Bradley University Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic last weekend. All three of Hartwick's games have gone to overtime. The Hawks have scored four goals in three games, each goal by a different player (senior Will Broomfield, junior Tim Crawford and sophomores Rio Dhat and Chris Walter). Sophomore goalie Mateo Munarriz has played in two of the three games and has made 15 saves this season.

Syracuse enters the weekend after shutting out Colgate University 6-0 on Monday. The Orange have scored 10 goals this season, nine coming in the second period and average 2.50 goals and 16 shots per game. Junior Tony Asante and freshman Jordan Vale share a team lead with three goals each. Asante leads the team in scoring with seven points. Goalkeeper Alex Bono has made 12 saves and recorded two shutouts this season. Prior to Sunday's match, Syracuse will play the New Jersey Institute of Technology Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Elmore Field.
