The Short Story:
The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team fell to 0-3 on Sunday, September 21 as they were defeated by the Rider Broncs by a score of 5-0. 

It was all Rider in the first half as they controlled the tempo of the game with 10 shots and five corners compared to the Bonnies, who only registered three shots and one corner. Despite St. Bonaventure recording the first shot of the game, the Broncs didn't take long to get on the board as Florian Valot shot from inside the 18-yard line to score the first goal. With just 20 minutes left in the half, Rider tacked on two more goals coming off a breakaway and a free kick.

The Broncs continued their dominance in the second half with two additional goals coming in the 53rd and 69th minute. Rider went on to post 18 shots with 11 shots on net and seven corner kicks.

Only two members of the St. Bonaventure squad registered shots on goal with freshman Kieran Toland having two shots and senior Eric Smolarek had one. The Bonnies had a total of eight shots in the game. 

Inside the Stats/Game Notes:
● Toland recorded a total of six shots on the day while Smolarek and freshman forward Blagoja Dimitrievski each had one.
● Before being taken out of the game in the second half Jeremy Figler had four saves on eight shots on net.
● Senior goalkeeper Bobby Diaz made his first appearance in net for the Brown and White since his sophomore year. Diaz allowed one goal in the 30 minutes he played and had two saves.
● Within seven minutes of each other Connor Magnusen and Kevin Carpenter each received yellow cards.
● Through the first three games of the season St. Bonaventure has given up nine goals, while they have been shutout in all three games.

St. Bonaventure continues on the road as it travels up north to Big 4 rival Canisius. First kick is set for 5:00 p.m.
