The Short Story:
The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team erased a two goal deficit to push the match into overtime, but fell to Canisius, 3-2.
It looked to be all too familiar for the Bonnies on Friday night at Canisius as they allowed an early goal and would end up falling behind two goals with only 30 minutes left in the match. St. Bonaventure found a way to claw back to tie the game and get the monkey off its back and score its first goal of the season. In the 84th minute, Eddie Keen played the ball into the box off a free kick to find Jaskamal Singh, where Singh headed the ball towards the net and bounced off the post to go in. In just two minutes later, St. Bonaventure would get the equalizer from a throw-in into the box that ended up being played wrong by the Canisius Defender and allowed Kieran Toland to knock in the tying goal.
At the end of regulation, the game was tied at 2-2. It only took the Golden Griffins four minutes to get the winning goal in overtime. The Griffs earned a corner in the 94th minute that resulted in a goal for Lucian Preis.
