Box Score KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Host Western Michigan got off to a hot start and never looked back en route to an 8-0 victory over the St. Bonaventure men's soccer team on Friday afternoon in the Radisson Invitational.
The Broncos (4-0-0), who received votes in the latest edition of the TopDrawerSoccer national Top 25 and ranked fifth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Great Lakes Regional Poll, struck first in the seventh minute when Dzenan Nezirevic deposited a cross from Sean Hazen into the net for the 1-0 lead.
Bonnies keeper Bobby Diaz made a tremendous save just over a minute later after back-to-back corner kick attempts from WMU, but the Broncos got back on the board on a header goal from Nick Wysong in the 12th minute.
Diaz made multiple impressive saves and finished with eight stops on the day, but the Bronco pressure proved to be too much as the hosts took a 5-0 advantage into halftime and never looked back.
The Bonnies (1-4-0) continue their stay in Michigan as the Radisson Invitational continues Sunday with a matchup vs. Detroit at 11 a.m.
