Canisius Gets Past @BonniesMSoccer, 3-0

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Visiting Canisius tallied an early goal and controlled throughout en route to a 3-0 victory over the St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team on a sunny Sunday afternoon at the Marra Athletics Fields Complex. 

The Golden Griffins (3-3-1) opened the scoring just over five minutes in after Nicolo Baudo went far post off a pass from Mathew Santos for the 1-0 lead.

St. Bonaventure (1-7-0) threatened in the 30th minute when Kosi Nwafornso fired a shot on net, but it was turned away by Canisius keeper Andrew Coughlin. 

Canisius added another score before half when Evan Walsh flipped a shot past a diving Bonaventure keeper to take a 2-0 lead into intermission.

Baudo completed the scoring with his second goal of the day when a foul set up a free kick opportunity and he converted from the top of the box in the 62nd minute.

Bobby Diaz made seven saves in net for the Bonnies while Coughlin turned away four shots to earn the win for Canisius. 

St. Bonaventure is back in action on Friday at St. Francis (Pa.).
